About Annemarie

Annemarie Hagan is an award-winning curator and museum professional with over thirty-five years’ experience in storytelling. She began her career delivering hands-on educational programming, then worked at the Royal Ontario Museum as an Exhibition Planner. 

From 1998 to 2014 she was Manager of the Museums of Mississauga, shepherding the growth of the museums, which included the restorations of Benares Historic House, the Port Credit Log Cabin, and the Leslie Log House.

More recently, Annemarie was Senior Curator, History at the Peel Art Gallery, Museum, and Archives (PAMA) in Brampton. Her work there included innovative collaborations with local Sikh, Muslim, Black, and Indigenous communities.

A life-long history nerd, Annemarie has a B.A. in History and Women’s Studies from University of Toronto and an M.A. in Public History from University of Waterloo. 

Annemarie enjoys a quiet life in the historic town of Fergus, Ontario. In addition to her ongoing research for presentations, she volunteers at the Wellington County Museum and Archives, is the historian for the Centre Wellington Probus Club, and is on the Board of the Mapleton Historical Society. 

As well, Annemarie helps to care for the legacy of her father, artist Frederick Hagan.

In-Person And Virtual Presentations

All of Annemarie’s presentations can be done in person or virtually, either using your group’s online connection or through her personal Zoom account. They can also be adapted for programs that are done over the telephone.
